Email Addresses -  In order to facilitate email use within the church congregation, please provide your email address to Centralfaith@aol.com.  A directory will be published after receipt of all addresses.  If you should have any questions, you can contact Marni Williams at 723-3112. 

2009 God's Creation Calendars - On sale now and you can purchase one (or more) from any Irene Weston circle member.  The cost is $6.00 each and they have beautiful pictures and scripture verses.  This fund raiser project is used for missions including the food pantry which the Circle gives to monthly.  We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month so anyone interested in joining us is welcome.

Farm Fresh receipts - It's time to save your Farm Fresh receipts again.  This past year, we earned a scanner for the office and a projection screen.  Save the special receipt that is printed out at the end of your register receipt.  This is the only receipt accepted.  There are boxes in the back of the sanctuary and by the office.  January will earn double points.  If you have any questions, please contact Karen Fitzgerald.

Food Pantry - At this time, we would like to expand the amount of food we are able to give out on Tuesday mornings.  Many people are losing their jobs due to company layoffs and downsizing.  As a result, the need for a larger quantity of food bags is growing fast.  For those who already give, maybe you could find a way to give a little more.  For those of you who don't give, please search your hearts and your wallets to give a donation monthly to the food pantry.

Upper Rooms "Donation Box" -  Beginning with the September/October Upper Rooms, there will be  a donation box on the table next to them.  Due to the rising cost of the books, we are asking that as you pick up an Upper Room that you make a donation.  The books are an excellent source for your devotional needs and a wonderful way to share God's love with others.  The present cost per Upper Room is approximately $.80.  Your donations will help us to continue with this worthwhile ministry.

Calling All Ladies -  Ladies of the church and "circle" members are invited to join the United Methodist Women at their monthly meetings.  These meetings are held in the Robert Raikes Classroom the 3rd Thursday of each month at 10:00 AM.  The UMW is a group of Mission oriented ladies striving to fulfill UMW Mission requirements and provide fellowship/friendship/and companionship as well.  Please come join us.

The UMW is in the process of updating the list of Circle members to include their addresses.  This information will be used to produce a new "Central United Methodist Women handbook".  Marie Murphy will be calling those members to ensure that it is okay to include their address.

Email Prayer List -  In case you didn't know, Central has an email prayer list that is used for prayer requests, joys, and sometimes just communication.  If you would like to have something put on the prayer list, or would like to start receiving these emails, please contact Jan Reynolds at jreynolds56@cox.net or call 722-7776. 

Monthly Breakfast - Come support the missions of the UMM by attending breakfast on the 4th Sunday of each month. The cost of breakfast is only $3.00 and is served from 9:00 AM  to 10:30 AM.

Adult/Senior Lunches -  They go out for lunch the first Wednesday of each month so please plan to attend some of these luncheons.  Please call Jan at 722-7776 or Thomasine Hall at 838-3887 if you are interested in attending.

Sunday School -  We are required to have two adults in each Pre-school, Kindergarten, Elementary and Jr. High Class.  If you would like to help, please contact Karen Fitzgerald.

Acolyte's Needed - If you or someone you know is interested in becoming an Acolyte, please contact Sheila Haskard at 851-7639.  An Acolyte must be at least 8 years of age and there will be a training session offered as well as a booklet with instructions for anyone that is interested.

Volunteers Needed -   Volunteers are needed to run the sound system and to videotape the church services.  The commitment is about one Sunday a month or possibly less with more volunteers.  Training will be provided. If you are interested in either, please contact Paul Fitzgerald at 595-1541.

Missions:

The Salvation Army Sandwich sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board outside the choir room.  If you or your organization/group would like to help out, please either sign up on the bulletin board or contact Jan Reynolds at 722-7776 or jreynolds56@cox.net.

Youth News: 

We are asking for volunteers (UMM, circle groups, Sunday school classes, or a family) to sign up to provide dinners for the youth on Sunday evenings at 5:30 PM.  The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board outside of the choir room.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.
